Equipment Requirements for Tryouts

During tryouts, no unique identifiers are allowed on any equipment.

  • NRA tryout jerseys are mandatory and must be worn during all tryout sessions. If you require a set of tryout jerseys, they can be purchased for $50 during registration.
  • No name bars on jerseys.
  • No specialty team pants (e.g., team Ontario pants) are to be worn. Only association pants or neutral pants are permitted.
  • All identifying stickers (e.g., Team Ontario stickers) on helmets should be removed or covered with tape matching the color of the helmet.

Any player with unique identifiers on their equipment will be asked to leave the ice and will not be evaluated until the identifying marks are removed. This is to ensure fairness and prevent any bias during the evaluation process.

Attendance Requirements

Players are required to attend each tryout session and check in a minimum of 45 mins before start time. If a player is unable to attend a tryout session due to illness or cannot check in 45 mins in advance, they must notify the competitive director as soon as possible.

Conflicts: This applies to any player that is trying out to multiple associations, including those who are trying out at multiple associations that are not their home association based on the level not being offered.

If you are trying out for multiple associations and you have tryout sessions on conflicting evenings, please let us know as soon as possible. This helps us shape teams for intrasquad scrimmages.

Order of conflict goes to: Home Association, Current Association, Any Other Association. If Nepean is selected as your first choice then preference goes to Nepean first and then any other association selected.

Preferred / Most Comfortable Position: For intrasquad scrimmages, it’s helpful to know ahead of time what your player’s preferred / most comfortable position is.

Players will select their priority position when signing up on RAMP with Nepean. If your player has selected a second position, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate. Please ENSURE that your player picks the position they feel most comfortable trying out at.

NRA Competitive Contract

When registering for NRA tryouts, prior to paying, the competitive commitment contract is to be read and signed.
